Hello Tippers!

It has been quite a long time since our last blog post but don’t be fooled, we’re not sleeping! In fact we’ve been working day and night to better serve our users and clients!  Here is some of the latest Stocktipr news:

Visitors should sign-up even if you don’t have stock tips to share yet!
Stocktipr is not only about being a tipper and creating stock tips to share – Even if you just want to be a lurker, there are loads of benefits to creating an account. Registered users can follow the best tippers in the community, and choose to receive email notifications the moment they post a hot new tip!

We have also completed a number of improvements to the site -  Here are some of the latest updates:

1) A star next to the tips title indicates that a tip has reached its target price!

2) A hot tips section will be managed by us to point out the best stock tips on the platform. Look for the latest hot tips in this section.

3) We added an ‘Active Tippers” category in the Tipper section. Our Top Tippers list only includes Tippers who have submitted multiple tips and have at least one active tip currently running.

4) When a tip is posted in the closing hour of the stock market, we use the following day’s opening price as initial price of the tip. This way a user can’t benefit from news announcements made after the close of the market.

5) Mouse-over has been added to some important information-points and functions for better in-context help.  Descriptions have been added to our Tips and Tippers sections in an effort to better explain the tips and tipper profile pages to new users.

As you can see, Stocktipr is an ever evolving platform to suits your highest needs for quality stock tips.

Add Additional information to your account
We want to assure maximum visibility for our tippers.  Help us help you by adding the name of your company, the address to your blog, site and Twitter account.  Because we implement the best practice in the use of social media, this information will be used to create a buzz around you and your stock tips.

Share stock tips with your own community
Using the new share button in the tip detail you can share your favorite tips with your friends on the most popular social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google reader, Stumbleupon, Delicious and more You can also send it by mail! Your friends and community should be aware of the next hot stock tips, share it!

What’s next?
Because we want to be the #1 finance community in America we decided to spend our time and money improving the site.  An improved company directory, updated design and remodeled home page are the object of our next site updates. Lots of things are going on with Stocktipr.com lately and we just wanted to keep you up to date. Some great stock tips have already been posted, and we’re enjoying lots of comments from the community. Some of you really appreciate the site – thanks! We’re working hard to keep the roll out rolling, and you’re working hard to provide great tips – Check out Stocknroll, who called HDIX at 6.18, which is now almost up to 12.00!  A hot tipper like him should get all your attention! Just add him as a friend to get an instant email alert every time he posts a new tip.

You probably noticed that we had some issues with the fetching of our financial data from our provider, sorry for any inconvenience but we’re on top of it now, and everything should be fixed and running perfectly again very soon.  We really want to provide the best service out there when it comes to sharing stock tips, and the more tips you guys provide, the more we’ll grow and scale smoothly, so keep ‘em coming tippers! Next up, a little announcement.

Improvement of the formula

Recently, we decided to make a change in the algorithm, improving our ability to take more recent tips into consideration appropriately. Don’t worry, your score is still an average of your tips’ score, we just want it to show when you are on a hot streak! We are also going to use the next day open price when you post a tip, ensuring late day financial news won’t affect tip validity.This helps us limit abuse and provide better tips.

We are preparing the official launch of the platform, and with your help it’s going to be HUGE. In about one month you should receive more instructions letting you know how you can participate, and we hope you will.

Post some tips!

We’re getting a rush of new members joining the community lately but it looks like people are a little timid, most haven’t posted your first tip yet! Go on and give it a try, it’s simple and even if you’re new at picking stocks, it can be a great learning experience. If you have any questions about how to post a tip please refer to our help section, blog or simply write us directly!
